A: Somaliland is an independent, unrecognized country that is officially a part of Somalia. It is democratic and relatively safe.
Q: What led Mohammed to live in the refugee camp?
A: He had to flee Somalia or else he would be forced to fight by a militant group. He believes life in Somaliland will be better.
Q: Why did Fatima think organizing a field trip to the sea was important?
A: Many of these boys have witnessed murder, violence, and warfare. They have not had the opportunity to experience peaceful moments that make up a healthy childhood.
