This fun lesson uses the Bluey episode "The Pool" as the kickoff to a classroom conversation about the importance of being prepared. That means you have to take your time! The lesson includes printables for three activities in which kids go on a scavenger hunt to find everything they need to be successful for a day at school or the pool, complete a maze to match different objects to what Bluey should use them for, and figure out where Bluey and her family are going based on what they’ve packed.
The Pool Episode Summary: As they prepare for a trip to the pool, Bluey and Dad tease Mum about being fussy and over-prepared. But they soon find out the hard way that doing the boring things makes the fun stuff possible.

Fill this journal with loads of lovely stuff! Everyone's family is different. Draw the people that make you happy. Next, color your favorite family meal on the plate. Finally, circle the places you like to hang out (playground, city, pool, beach, or home), and check off your family activities (Does your family like to bake, make must, explore, or something else?).
Grab a pencil and draw or write a story. Think about:
- Who's in the story? Fairy Bluey, Donkey Dad, Horse Mum, or Motorbike Bingo
- Where does your story take place? Uncle Stripe's pool, the beach, Bluey's school, the backyard, or in a cool forest
- What's in the background? Mountains or trees
You can also decide if there are scary bits, Humpty Dumpty, talking trees, a dragon, treasure, horses, or anything else you can imagine!
