Lesson Express
Q: Why is it so important for baby ostriches to get enough water to drink?
A: When ostriches are very young, they are not able to keep themselves cool so they must drink water so they don’t overheat. When they’re older, they will get water from food.
Q: What makes it easier for some animals to get food and water?
A: Animals that are mammals often get their food and water from their mothers, some for up to a few years.
Q: What are two reasons life in the desert is challenging?
A: There is a drought (lack of water), and the temperature is extremely high.
