How lab-grown meat is made
In Singapore, a special restaurant called 1880 served chicken that was made in a lab, not from a farm. This chicken was grown from tiny cells in a machine, similar to how yogurt is made. A company named Eat Just created this new kind of meat, and it's called GOOD Meat.
Singapore says it's safe — and tasty
The Singapore Food Agency said it was safe to eat, and in December 2020, people got to try it for the first time. The meal included different dishes using this lab-grown chicken, and everyone was excited to taste it.
Why this could help the planet
This new way of making meat could help the planet by using less land and water and by not needing to raise and kill animals. It's a big step toward helping the Earth and animals.
